Away

Friday, April 14th, 2006

Yes, Meat Friday is away. Tonight, we are getting back to Meat Friday basics. We are leaving the ladies at home. The foundation of Meat Friday was for the men. We get together drink beers, play video games, eat meat, and do stupid shit. It is simply a guys night out.

Anyways, Meat Friday is going to be at Joel and Ed’s place tonight. We don not have anything planned. We are going to get together and have good times. I can not even describe the menu. I will update everyone next week on the goings on at Joel and Ed’s place

Will’s Lunch Review

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

Today, my co-worker and I had lunch at Dave’s Deli & Gelato in Bethlehem off of Stoke Park Road. I have to say the food was good. However, it is a little pricey. I had Dave’s Favorite, which is Cajun Roast Beef, American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, and Cajun Mayo on a Portuguese Roll for $5.95. The sandwich was very good. The problem is that the sandwich does not include anything else but two pickle slices. They could at else include a handful of chips for $5.95.

On a positive note, Dave’s Deli makes Gelato. Gelato is Italian for Ice Cream. Dave’s Deli Gelato is made daily and has 4-7% fat in the cream flavors and less then 2% fat in the fruit flavors I had a flavor called Bacio which is Chocolate Hazelnut. It was awesome.

Check out their website. www.daves-deli.com.

Mr. Sandwich

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006

It’s another lovely Tuesday morning and I’m feeling confident about winning the lottery. I’ve got to win. I can feel it. I can only image my life after winning $135 million dollars, roughly $60 million after taxes. Honestly, what would I do? I wouldn’t need to work anymore and I could stay at home all day. I could only dream a life with no debt or responsibility. I can only remember a glimpse from childhood.

Actually, I would start a sandwich shop. I would wear an apron and constantly have mustard under my thumbnail from making so many sandwiches. It would be great. That would be quite a life. People would start calling me the Sandwich Man or even better Mr. Sandwich. I could open multiple shops. That could be my legacy, sort of like Colonel Sanders.

Anyways, I’m leaving the dreams behind. We had another successful Meat Friday. Joel brought some meat to make hamburgers. The hamburgers were awesome, thanks Joel. Thanks again to everyone who dropped by the house on Friday. We watched such an intense game too. Villanova and Boston College… What an awesome game. It’s a shame that Villanova is out of the tourney. There is always next year.

Moving along, the Dolphins season may have playoff potential this year. I’m excited. However, they will be facing the defending Super Bowl Champs at Pittsburgh on the season opener. I will be watching.

Until next time…

Meat Friday Update

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006

This a Meat Friday update. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the menu for last 5 Meat Fridays but I thought it was time to make open promises. Open promises about how Joel and I will post more often.

It is our responsibility to ensure that all the Meat Friday fans are well feed with Meat Friday gossip.

Coming this Friday, March 24, 2006:

  • A long lost friend will show his face. He is walking into a hornets’ nest of angry friends from the past. How will that transpire?
  • See the further adventures of Will, Joel, and Eduardo. What will they do?
  • Will Amy let the boys play video games?
  • What’s on the menu?

See you all on Friday.

Saucy Crouch

Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006

Don’t you hate it when you spill spaghetti sauce on your clothes?  Wouldn’t you know that I brought lunch to work for the first time ever and I spilled it all over my clothes?  Now I have crusty sauce all in the crouch of my pants.  I was almost tempted to tell my boss that I had an accident.  That would be funny, right?  That is definitely a good way to make an impression.  I won’t be known for a great job but just the guy who had sauce in his crouch.

Anyways, the new job is going well.  I’ve been training for the last week or so.  Interestingly enough, someone I know from college is training me.  It’s a small world.  That eased a lot of the new job jitters.

On another note, I hung out with an old friend.  It was quite an experience.  We haven’t spoken in close to two years for various reasons.  The whole evening made me wonder whether or not I should try to rekindle our old relationship.  He had close relationships with a lot of people and then turned his back on them.  Some people will continue to resent him for his actions but I think our night was productive.  I just let him have it for an hour.  I explained to him the results of his actions.  Especially how everybody felt betrayed and very hurt.  I think my comments finally made an impression on his thinking.  I hope that we can all move forward.  I feel very positive about the whole situation.

Moving along, Meat Friday is planned as always.  I hope to you some people there to have fun and eat meat.  Whose meat you ask?  You will have to join us and see.

By the way, I posted MWW Videos on www.ifilm.com and I’ve been getting a mediocre response except for one video.  The latest video that I read emails has been viewed about 1,700 times because of the image that is posted with the video.  By the way, I had no part in selecting the image of Rachel in her bikini to associate with the video.  Although, I did change the name of the video to “Topless on the Beach.”  Thanks Rachel for being a good sport about it.

That is all I got for now,

Will

Proprietors…..

Just letting you both know that I will finally be joining the group for this week’s edition of Meat Friday.

I will be taking it upon myself to alienate this bovine weekly holiday into more of a “not boring food” Friday, by providing some tasty shrimp appetizers for this evening. (I am still in pain from the last time I was served meat) At any rate, I hope to see you all tonight….

Meat Friday January 27, 2006

Sunday, January 29th, 2006

Well here I am. I was told by a certain someone that I do not post to the Meat Friday web site. So…I thought it was extremely important for me to add my first official post to the Meat Friday web site.

First of all, I wanted to comment about this wonderful event known as Meat Friday. A group of friends can get together for no reason at all. They could go to a bar, they could hang out at the beach, they could sit down and watch some reruns of Sanford and Son. Now you see, those types of get togethers will be good times but can you truly say they are unique get-togethers? I don’t think so. This is one of the many reasons why Meat Friday has come about. A group of friends, standing around a hot grill, drinking many beers, discussing the events of the week as we see them. Mix it all together into a great big mixing bowl and you have “good times.”

Menu:

  • 5 - 6 lbs. of London Broil
  • Hamburgers
  • Chicken Tenders
  • Lionshead (some of Wilkes-Barre’s finest) and Michelob Ultra

The London Broil was absolutely delicious. With the fine cooking skills of Will and the right marinade/spices, the steak tasted like heaven. The toughest part to grilling a London Broil is the timing. You can’t keep it on too long or you are going to burn the surface of the meat. Taking the steak off the grill too soon and you have a piece of uncooked flesh. Will’s mastery of the grill gave us some of the finest pieces of London Broil ever. Props to Mr. Austin. To wet our appetites, we had hamburgers set aside as appetizers. Some of our friends went to the lighter side of meat by preparing some chicken tenders. I did not have any but I heard they were surprisingly good. There will be no frozen chicken ever again. Hamburgers…freeze away. Chicken…we need fresh.

Most of the time, we follow up our dinner with a trip to a bar. This Friday, we decided it was best to just stay in. I was impressed by the amount in attendance. I would have to say, it was an extremely successful Meat Friday. Oh yeah…we broke out the dice for a little 3-Man. Can you say re-living college?

So…can we make the next Meat Friday even more successful? I think so. Until next week.

I got nothin else…Joel

Meat Friday January 20, 2006

Thursday, January 26th, 2006

Since Joel never posts anything, I will do it. Anyways, another successful Meat Friday has pasted and we are all happier knowing that. I invite anyone to stop and join us for Meat Friday. Bring meat and beer. We can’t feed everyone you know.

Menu:

  • Pork Ribs covered in Stubbs BBQ sauce
  • Miller Lite and Michelob Ultra

The ribs were good but they needed to be basted as we cooked them. The ribs were a bit crunchy on the outside but the meat inside was very good. We needed to keep the meat very moist. You said moist…

We followed up the meal with a trip to the Holy Family Club. Joel and I beat up on two unsuspecting shuffleboards players. I know it is always difficult to accept a defeat. Both games were close.

Well, on to next Meat Friday.

Later.

Meat Friday January 13, 2006

Tuesday, January 17th, 2006

It was quite a group this week. More people showed up then expected. Thanks again for those of you who stopped by for Meat Friday. It was a lot fun. Shawn even brought food. Good job, Shawn.

Menu:

  1. Bratwurst
    • Marinade for 1 hour in mixture of Onion, Minced Garlic, Tbsp of Balsamic vinegar, Tbsp of Olive Oil, Salt, Pepper, and two cups of water
  2. Chicken Breast
    • Marinade in Stubbs Marinade for 1 hour
  3. Modelo Beer

Sounds good, right? Damn good. The Brats were awesome. What is better then cookin’ on the grill and drinking some beers with your friends on a Friday night? Nothing.

Later that night Joel, Eduardo, and I went to a local bar and had a few drinks. We watched the Sixers/Celtics game. After game we talked about the newest video.

We recorded the new video that night. Stay tuned.
