Atlantic City drains you dry
Atlantic City and no not the 1980 film which tells the story of a Canadian woman whose dream for a better life in the gambling business is interrupted by the return of the husband she had left behind. It stars Burt Lancaster, Susan Sarandon, Kate Reid, Michel Piccoli, Hollis McLaren and Moses Znaimer.
Like I said before the night in the AC was for the groom. We all had a great time although I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t take many pictures but maybe next time.
I have to tell you that AC nickel and dimes every last bit of money out of you. I’ve bulleted a few of the examples:
- Two slices of pizza and a drink: $9.00. I have to explain this one. Most people can eat at least two pieces of pizza, right? Everyone orders two slices. We figure they would be normal sized pieces but instead we get slices that Paul Bunyan can’t even eat. We each ordered two slices. We only had to order but instead food and resources are wasted and we are full for hours with the largest slices in the world.
- Shuttle service to casino: $7.00/person. We believed that the shuttle service was complimentary as per the hotel. Wrong answer, 3/4 of the way the driver says to the ten unsuspecting riders that it is $7.00 per person. I find it difficult to believe that is costs $70 to drive ten people to the same place. A cab would have been half the cost.
- Hickory BBQ Burger: $12.00. It wasn’t even that good.
- Check-In cellphone at nudity bar: $2.00. I can understand the $20 admittance price but $2 to check-in my cellphone? Let’s be serious. Why should I be expected to check-in my phone? They have security. If someone is taking pictures then throw their ass out.
- Gambling: $$$$
When I think of more examples, I will append the list. All in all, I had a great time and I hope that the groom can say the same.
Until next time, keep checking back.
